ArtsEdNet, The J.Paul Getty Museum Education Web site- Here you'll find lesson plans and curriculum ideas sorted by grade level, image galleries, and exhibitions. There is an online community chat room for educators, special exhibits, as well as a space for student art.

Digital Art Resource for Education (DARE)- this is a very interesting site. "
DARE is an online education resource for contemporary international visual arts being developed through the Digital Arts Education Research initiative, over three years from 1998 - 2001. The project's title - Digital Art Resource for Education (DARE) - refers to the digital format as a means of accessing and engaging with contemporary art, rather than implying the resource is specifically concerned with digital arts as a new discipline."Art/Technology- An extensive resource on art and technology from About.com. ArtsEdge from the Kennedy Center- ARTSEDGE supports the place of arts education at the center of the curriculum through the creative and appropriate uses of technology. ARTSEDGE helps educators to teach in, through and about the arts.
ArtsEdge Mini-Sites- Mini-sites are multidisciplinary, self-contained explorations of arts-related themes or subjects. The sites below offer a rich mix of multimedia, primary sources, contextual information, and instructional activities, making them equally suited to school or at-home use.

Art21- Art in the 21st Century. This is a great site that works to introduce users to the art and artists of the 21st Century. "The Online Lesson Library is a doorway to curricular resources that present contemporary art and artists for the classroom. The 27 lessons in the library can serve as guides for a course of study incorporating contemporary art and artists, or as a broader resource for exploring contemporary ideas in an educational context."

Wireless Technology Lesson Plans- Great lesson plans to integrate technology and classroom content with the visual arts. Clay animations, media techniques, field trip enhancement, and poem movies are just a few of the lesson plans included at this site. A great resource for all areas.
Online Visual Literacy Project- "Visual literacy is the ability, through knowledge of the basic visual elements, to understand the meaning and components of the image." This resource page helps to explain the basic elements of visual design and conceptualization.

Classical Archives- A comprehensive web site that houses over 18,000 classical music files. Although a subscription site, there are many downloads, biographies, and more offered for free.
Musically Inclined- "The Ultimate Music Reference"-" It is difficult to capture the many aspects of the art and language commonly known as music. From the forms or instruments that present music, to the people or composers who create it. From the artists or musicians who perform it, to the styles and history it's known for. Musically Inclined will attempt to inform the reader of these aspects, and the subject as a whole."
Play Music.org- an interactive site that assists students in learning the sections and instruments of an orchestra.
Quia Music Games- Online activities to engage students in learning about music.
eMusicTheory.com- Interactive quizzes and resources for both student and teacher. Some concepts may be a little advanced, but a great challenge for those needing more.
The Musical Scientist- "This site teaches the physics of sound and the history of musical instruments in a "fun" way. Kids build toy instruments and prepare demonstrations that explain sound waves, sound transmission, and other principles relevant to music."
Danmans Music Library- This is an incredible collection of free online videos to help anyone learn to play a number of instruments. There is also a library of downloadable lyrics, notations, and more.
Music Tech Teacher.com- Many resources and lessons.Worth exploring. The very last link under lessons brings you to a Java keyboard.

Piano- Play a Piano / Synthesizer / Oscilloscope
Play the piano using your mouse or your computer's keyboard.
As you play the piano, you'll see the wave forms as well as hear them.
The piano can also play a song for you, while you watch.Java Piano- To play, click on piano keys, Drum or Demo.
To record, click Rec, click piano keys, then click Play to re-play.
It takes a little while to download the applet (about 210K bytes).

David Ahmed's Interactive Freeware- Welcome to David Ahmed's web page where "freeware" downloads for exploring different aspects of music can be explored. Blues guitar, meditation music, and making music are three downloads to be used with students in music creation. Be sure to save in your MyApps folder when downloading.
