Project Based Learning

Outcomes for the Day:

Teachers will connect with other teachers in their region.
Teachers will gain an awareness of project based learning and essential questioning techniques.
Teachers will know where to find resources for developing projects for students.
Teachers will create a simple web page to use with students.
Teachers will use essential questions as a starting point for project creations.
Teachers will plan the steps to create a unit of study incorporating project based learning.
Teachers will aquire the technical skills needed to develop a project based unit and will know of additional training and resources to further their expertise.

Procedure:

Morning
1. Introductions and a quick status of the group. What are you working on right now?
2. Introduction to Project Based Learning with exemplars and resources.

Afternoon

Teachers work on project based units using essential questions with assistance from content meeting leaders on unit design and technical applications.
Participants are encouraged to bring digital still/movie cameras or any other tools to be utilized in relation to unit planning.
