MLTI iTeam Conference

The MLTI iTEAM Conference is a chance for educators, students, and community members to come together as a team for learning. We would like to extend our thanks to the Gorham Public School System, the Gorham School Nutrition Program, and especially to Gorham Middle School and its staff, for their help in making this conference possible.

The conference is designed for hands on participation. Students and teachers should bring their MLTI iBooks. Please see more specifications below.

Purpose:

To learn to organize and/or improve a student tech team (iTEAM) with students and adults as active participants.
To aquire both technological and interpersonal skills for assisting others in the utilization of technology as an educational tool.
To make connections with peers and to have fun.

Who Should Attend:

Adults interested in iTEAM organization and students interested in/or are already participating in one.
Educators, parents, and community members who are interested in learning more about these student organizations and the skills they are learning to utilize.

Logistics:

Place- Gorham Middle School, Gorham, ME
Time-
- Registration: 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- Sessions: 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Date- January 10th, 2004 with a snow date of January 24th
Food- Complimentary morning refreshments. Participants may bring their own lunch or purchase one from the cafeteria. Visit Gorham Middle School's a la carte menu.
Supervision- Please bring one adult for every five students. See Resources for student permission slip.
Students with health issues- The school nurse, Teresa Merrill, will be present during the day. Please bring a copy of the child's school emergency sheet to the conference to give to the nurse. If any students will need any medications (such as if they are diabetic) during the conference, please notify Teresa before Christmas vacation. Contact her at 222-1220 and ask for the nurse.

Technical Requirements

Teachers and students should bring their MLTI iBooks in order to participate in hands-on sessions.
At least one adult should have the school's Admin password in case of difficulties with network connections. If the adult does not know the password already set on the machines, the iBooks going to this event should be configured with a generic admin password for the day. Then when the iBooks are back at school, the school's admin password can be restored by the tech lead.
Students should be given a teacher log-in for the day so that they are able to participate in all sessions.

Registration and Fees:

Please go to the MLTI iTEAM Conference registration link to register all participants.
Registration deadline is Monday, January 5th
Cost-

$10 per person, student or adult. (Registration fees go directly towards facility expenses.)
One free adult admission for every five students.

Please make checks payable to the Gorham School Nutrition Program and mail to Heather Hamlin, Department of Education, 23 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333 no later than January 5th, 2004. We are unable to accept purchase orders.
