The seventh grade students of Pemaquid House at Lyman Moore Middle School in Portland, Maine have been working on an author study project during the months of April and May 2002, using their iBook laptop computers.

You will find their web pages, which were created using Netscape Composer, posted here.  Each student chose an author to study and to write about. They could choose any author that they wished as long as they had read at least one book by that person.  The authors that they chose are listed here.  When you click on the author’s name, you will see the home page of the student(s) that studied that person.

You will find on each student web page two to four different links:

• The personification link will take you to a piece of their writing that shows what their author’s personality is like through the point of view of an inanimate object, animal, or person.

• The writing style link brings you to a piece of original writing that is an imitation of the author’s style of writing.

• The reflection link will demonstrate that the student read at least one book by their author in a creative way.

• Some pages will have a book review link where you will find a student’s opinion of one of their author’s books. (We have joined the Amazon Associates Program which means that if you purchase any of the books we have reviewed, our school will earn a referral fee of 15% of the selling price).
