Thats how it ends

I hope he’s careful. losing him would be dreadful, I thought to myself. The way he moves, so swiftly and softly, and the way he flicks his wrist as he does his set shot. I turned my head to look at the team as they watched the game with stern look’s on there face’s. As i had my head turned I heard the whistle blow.
Chris had just knocked a player to the floor, and with his history that was not good. Chris was a big kid bout 6’3” and was the tallest player in the league. He was also new to this team and he had just come from Indiana were he had previously played basketball.
When he was at Indiana he knocked a player to the floor and the kid had to go to the hospital. After a few weeks the kid was fine up and running like a horse again. But Chris felt that he had done something wrong and he stopped playing basketball until he came here and we helped him with his little problem.
As the couch heard the whistle he jumped to the floor to see if the kid was hurt. The kid was ok beside a burs. Chris went write to the bench looking down at the floor. Chris stayed out that whole game. I was worried that it was the end.
As i drove home iI thought to my self that chris would get over it because the kid that was hit got back and started playing again.
The next day at practice there was no sign of Chris. Later that day i saw him in the hall and he came up to me and said “ I am done” Those were the hardest  words that I have ever had to listen to.
The next day we had a game against the best team in the west. They have a huge name but there nickname is the made whiled thrashers. Were they got it who knows but it’s not the pleasantest name around. This game was the championship game the game to prove that we are the best. The first period was tough but by the half it was 44-46 and we were only down by 2.
When we entered the 4th quarter we were up 84-78. We struggled with rebounds and fought to get of our jump shots. With one minute left in the game the thrashers had the ball and it was a tie game. Then the gym door’s flew open and in walked on to the court all dressed and ready to play. He came up to me and said just on time uh coach. I nodded and put him write in the game.
He stepped on the court. The thrasher threw the ball in and took a three point shot and at that moment chris jumped up slapped the ball down with 10 seconds Left. He pushed the ball down the floor as fast as he could and stopped set up for a shot. He slowly jumped into the air and realized. The buzzer rang and the shot went threw We WON! we WON!.
