~*Book Review*~
Have
you been looking for a good book lately? Then you have come to the right
place. I am going to tell youabouta book that has a little spunk. The book
is called: Looking For Alibrandi and it was written by: Melina Marchetta.
Looking
For Alibrandi is a book about a girl named Josephine Alibrandi and
what she goes through each day in life. She lives with her mom, goes to
a private catholic school, she has an Italian grandmother who is
very strict and has two guys that are falling madly in love with her.
Jospehine’s
dad moves back to town and she doesn’t know what to do. Her grqandmother
tries to get Josephine to meet her father, but at the same time her mom
isn’t sure she wants her to meet him. Josephine is trying to hide her feelings
and saying that she doesn’t want to meet him and if she does she will just
look right through him. One of the characters in the book ends up committing
suicide. But I cannot tell you who or any more because, I don’t want to
ruin the story for you.
This
story takes place in the continent of Australia, in the city of Syndey,
Adelaide and in the suburb of Syndey. Some of the characters in this book
are Josephine Alibrandi, her mother, Josephine’s four girl friends, Michael
Andretti, her grandmother, Jacob Coote, John Barton and a bunch of other
people.
I don’t
think that there is one book that I could campare this book to. This book
was so well written, that I can’t think of any book that I have read in
the past to compare it to. If there were any type of book that I haven’t
read yet that could compare to this it would probably be about a romance
in a foreign country.
I enjoyed
this book because, the author used very descriptive words. When I was reading, the
sentencesflowed together just like a calm stream passing through a thick
green forest. The author had written this book sooo well that I was able
to see what it would have been like to live in Australia in the early 90’s.
