Reading Reflections

A friend in need is a friend indeed . English Proverb. This proverb has to do with this book because it has to do with two best friends dealing  with there problems, like one of them having to deal with their parents getting into a divorce. And they are both there for each other and helping each other out.
A hedge between keeps friendship green. French Proverb. This relates to my book because one of the best friends has to move away. This isn't really ruining their friendship, but sort of making it better so they wont get on each others nerves.
Flattery makes friends and truth makes enemies.Spanish Proverb. This also relates because when Tara Star(the one that has to move away) tells Elizabeth that she has found new friends and Elizabeth thinks that they are her new best friends. But Tara Star now regrets even telling her the truth. To get her to talk to her again Tara Star is very nice to her and complements her a lot, which then makes Elizabeth start to talk to her again.
A friend's eye is a good mirror. Irish Proverb. This proverb relates to the story because both of the girls tell each other what they think of each other. They also are always giving each other good advice on their clothes, hair, etc. This is a very good proverb for this book. In one part Tara Star asked Elizabeth about a shirt she just got.
A rumor goes in one ear and out many mouths. Chinese Proverb. This relates to the book because a person at Elizabeth's school started a rumor about a secret that Elizabeth told her. This relates because when Elizabeth told her the secret she said not to tell anyone and she did which then led to a huge rumor.
“ A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.” By:Walter Winchell. This quote relates to the story very well because right in the beginning when Tara Star has to move Elizabeth is always there for her.Tara Starr also has no friends when she gets there and Elizabeth is  there for her and encouraging her to meet new people.
“When a friend is in trouble, don't annoy her by asking if there is anything you can do.” Think up something appropriate and do it. E.W Howe. This qoute relates to the book becasue  Elizabeth kept asking Tara Star if she wanted her to find new friends for her, and I really think that Tara Starr got really annoyed. So Elizabeth really should have let her find her own friends on her own time.
