The book I have chosen (many stones) is about the pain Berry (the main character) has felt and how she tries to recover. Its about things that seem like they will never end and proving that life does and will go on. So the following quotes relate to my book in many different ways.

“Pain is the price that God putteth upon all things.” James Howell.
This quote relates to my book and ../flamingT the real world because pain is the price and all people have to pay and Berry had to have the pain of her sisters death.

“Advice has greater strength when coming from a divine source.”
Mostellaria Plautus. I have chosen this quote because advice from the right person can help a great deal and this is something that in the end, Berry found that's what helped her the most.

“I have found you an argument; but I am not obliged to find you an understanding.” Samuel Johnson.  This quote relates to my book greatly because Berry was always in a fight with her dad, and her dad was trying to have a normal “father daughter” relationship and Berry would not find him an understanding.

“Hatreds are the cinders of affection.” Sir Walter Raleigh.
This is a great quote for my book because all the times Berry hated her father and argued with him deep down she really did love him and in the end she realized this.

“I will hate, if I can: if not, I will unwillingly love.” Amores Ovid.
I think this is the kind of attitude Berry would have toward not just her father but the continent and people of Africa in general.

“Tears are for the conquered there, and the conquerer, Death.” Lives Plutarch.  This is very true and im sure that Berry must have felt the same exact way when she found out her sister had died.

“Death is the conquerer of all.” unknown source. The book many stones is about in general, death and this quote is almost summarizing the story.
