Diary Entry 1
 

Dear Diary,
Today is my first time talking to you so i will tell you a little bit about myself.  I was born in New York City on November 19, 1918 on a snowy morning.  But now I am 12 years old and we are moving to europe.  We will live mostly in France and Switzerland.  I am an only child but i don't think that bothers me that much.  that is where I went ot a swiss boarding school.  I have to go now because it is time for us to go.
 
 

Diary Entry 2

It is after 1941 and I had graduated from smith College in 1941.  I am staying in an apartment in Greenwich Village with three other girls, and two of them were aspiring actresses.  Because I wanted to be a writer, I was the lucky one to get all of the written jobs  in the theater.  I have recently met a man named Hugh Franklin and I have fallen in love with him.  I think that we have a lot in common.
 
 

Diary Entry 3

It has been a year now and I have married Hugh and at his request I have quit Actor’s Equity and in 1952 he retired from the theater for ever.  We bought an old white barn in Connecticut because we want to settle down from all the hassle of the city and theater.  We are also planning to start a general store.  I think it will be a good thing in a small town.
 
 

Diary Entry 4

The store is a really good hit and the fun and the challenge was gone from starting the store.  We needed a challenge in life.  That's what we wanted so we decided to move back to New York.  We couldn't stand being away from broadway.  Now I am a writer and a librarian at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City.  Hugh Died in 1986 after a long illness.  I have 3 children and I am now a grandmother.
