I really like this book because it is real. Its a bio. on a young american girl living in Germany during World war 2. (plot)
I like Eleanor( the main character) because she has to go through so much while there and she goes through it. She is really tough. (character)
When the twins get a bomb acid over them and their father has to shoot them is just so sad. (plot)
I think that Eleanor's little brother and sister are so cute. they are really brave since they were both born there and never went home until 1947.(character/plot)
When Eleanor is away at the school off on a island i would be so scared , because I wouldn't know what my family is doing or even if they are live. ( Character/plot)
The story has many different emotions in the book. Its a very
up and down book. Like when eleanor has to move away from her mother, father,
and older brother and has to take her sister and brother and go live on
her own. That's a down but a up is like having he sister be born on her
birthday. ( mood)
I feel really bad for everyone that had to live in Germany during
the war or after.
(character)
Eleanor's mother is very strict but she still has a heart.(character)
I think it would be really scary if you had a Russian go through
your house like they did to Eleanor.( scene)
I have read many biographies but this one is my favorite. Its
even my favorite book. I knew that it was a girl in Germany during the
war just by looking at the cover of the book. Eleanor’s Story An American
Girl in Hitler's Germany. When I started to read it I couldn’t put it down.
I read it every night. She explains how her life is while its happening.
Eleanor is this main character. When she moves to Germany she
meets many friends and gets her first kiss. Her Mother is quite strict
and very lady like. Her father reminds me of one of the three stooges.
Not by the way he acts but by the way he looks. Her older brother, Frank,
is very skinny and very tall. He helps out a lot in the story.
I felt many different emotions in the story. At some points I
felt happy and at others I felt sad or mad. Like when the father had to
kill the twins that's really sad or when Eleanor had to go to a different
school on a whole different island with no family only girls from school.
That would make you worry because she doesn't know how her family is doing.
When her baby brother and sister was born that makes you happy. When she
sees her mother again from not being with her for a very long time that
makes you cry but only happy cry.
Clearly, this is my favorite book.I recommend this book
to 6th graders & up. i hope you read it and enjoy it.
Thank you for reading,
Sasha
