My book review
You might
of heard the saying in a black community, that if you lived in my
shose for one day you would not live. In this book you will find out what
the word ghetto is all about. I wanted to read this book for two main reasons,
one is that I love Walter Dean Myers, and his work. But the real reason
is that I wanted to see how it would relate to my life as a child growing
up in Detroit, Philadelphia, and Miami. Alot of people suggested Walter
when I was little kid.
This setting was placed right in the middle of the ghetto slums of a hard
knock life of Brooklyn, New York.
He is living in a brick appartment, with his sister Sassey, and Mama. You
will start to know or feel what kind of lifestyle living in a poor community
is all about.
They are trying to survive and live in a very harsh enviorment. This is
one of the most intence, and thriling books in the U.S. It is one of those
that once you start you can’t come any were nere colose to stop.
So, as you can see, Walter Dean Myers knows his stuff like what a black
community looks like, painting a mentle picture in your head, and most
of all trying to tell you not to do bad things that will make you end up
in a gang or even in the ghettos slums of harlum.
