Standardized Testing
A formal testing program allows the schools to look at student performance trends over time. It is very important to remember that testing of any kind is only one piece of the puzzle. Scores are indicators of performance but they are only one method teachers use to assess your child. Your child’s teachers can provide you with complete information about your child’s performance on standardized tests and on classroom assessments.
All students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades will participate in the NWEA (Northwest Educational Assessment) testing. Multilingual students will participate in ACCESS testing each year to determine their current level of English Language proficiency and inform the services and supports they receive.
