Dear Lyman Moore Parents and Guardians,

As we move into a new month, our focus remains on academic growth and fostering a positive school culture. Please review our monthly newsletter, where you’ll find a few key updates and reminders to help your family stay informed and engaged with our upcoming school events.

Attendance:

Please continue to maintain your child's attendance throughout the winter season. Here is a link to the school calendar. If your child must miss school for a pre-planned absence of two or more days, please complete this form and give it to Ms. Berube in the main office, or email the school at mooresecretary@portlandschools.org.

Care Closet:

If you need assistance with winter clothing or food for your Lyman Moore student, please fill out this care closet form. We will do our best to meet your student's needs and/or refer you to community partners who can help.

Device-Free Electronics Checks:

We will begin Yondr checks this month in all grades for lost or damaged pouches. Please find the replacement form linked HERE if your student has lost or damaged it. Our Yondr policy has been in effect since September 8, 2025. HERE is the overview for your reference. To enhance your understanding, you may find several important links regarding Yondr available for your convenience.  Parent Yondr Presentation, No Electronic Agreement.

Handicapped Parking/Bus Lanes:

To ensure a smooth and safe experience for all our students and families, please remember:

  • Handicap Spaces: These are strictly reserved for those with a valid permit. Please leave them open for the individuals who truly need them.
  • Bus Lanes: Keep these clear at all times. This allows our buses to stay on schedule and ensures a safe boarding zone for the kids.

We appreciate you helping us keep the morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up efficient and respectful for the whole community!

Lost and Found:

Please remind your children to check the school's lost and found frequently for misplaced items. The lost and found is located between the gym and the school store. We have a large collection of jackets, water bottles, and hats. At the end of each trimester, any items left in the lost and found will be donated or discarded.

Remote Learning:

If there are more than three days of inclement weather requiring school cancellation, we will have remote learning days in lieu of a snow day. On remote learning days, students will stay home and will be expected to complete academic assignments. Remote learning days will not need to be made up at the end of the year; see more details here: Snow Day Plans 2025-2026.
