Dear Lyman Moore Parents and Guardians,

As we approach the end of the year, our focus remains on academic growth and on creating a positive school culture. Please review our monthly newsletter, which includes key updates and reminders to keep your family informed and engaged with upcoming school events.

Attendance: We appreciate your commitment to your child's regular school attendance this winter. Here is a link to the school calendar. Maintaining consistent school attendance throughout the spring is vital for your child's learning, social-emotional development, and overall sense of safety. If there are barriers to regular attendance, please let us know how we can help support you and your child! If your child must miss school for a planned absence of two or more days, please complete this form and either give it to Ms. Berube in the main office or email it to the school at mooresecretary@portlandschools.org.

Care Closet: If you need assistance with clothing or food for your Lyman Moore student, please fill out this care closet form. We will do our best to meet your student's needs and/or refer you to community partners who can help.

Handicapped Parking/Bus Lanes:

To ensure a smooth and safe experience for all our students and families, please remember:

  • Handicap Spaces: These are strictly reserved for those with a valid permit. Please leave them open for the individuals who truly need them.
  • Bus Lanes: Keep these clear at all times. This allows our buses to stay on schedule and ensures a safe boarding zone for the kids.

We look forward to connecting with you at our upcoming parent–teacher conferences. These conferences are an important opportunity to discuss your child’s academic progress, celebrate successes, and talk about goals for the remainder of the school year. Links to sign up will be shared with multilingual families this week and with everyone else next week. We encourage all families to participate, as these conversations are a valuable part of maintaining strong communication between home and school.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our conference coordinator, Erin Beal, at beale@portlandschools.org.

Volunteering: If you are interested in volunteering, please use the district volunteer link provided volunteer link. All parents are welcome and encouraged to join us in becoming involved in our school community.

We are committed to working together for the success of every child. To stay updated with our daily announcements, please visit the Moore Daily Announcements link or check out our website at Lyman Moore.
