04/01/2026 Newsletter

Dear Lyman Moore Middle School Families,

As we approach the end of the year, our focus remains on academic growth and on creating a positive school culture. Please review our monthly newsletter, which includes key updates and reminders to keep your family informed and engaged with upcoming school events.

Attendance: Thank you for ensuring your child's regular attendance at school this winter. Here's our school calendar link. Consistent attendance in spring is crucial for your child's learning and well-being. If you face any barriers, please let us know how we can help! If your child must miss school for a planned absence of two or more days, please complete this form and either give it to Ms. Berube in the main office or email it to the school at mooresecretary@portlandschools.org.

Handicapped Parking/Bus Lanes: To ensure a smooth and safe experience for all our students and families, please remember the following:

  • Handicap Spaces: These are strictly reserved for those with a valid permit. Please leave them open for the individuals who truly need them.
  • Bus Lanes: Keep these clear at all times. This allows our buses to stay on schedule and ensures a safe boarding zone for the kids.

Nurses Corner: Spring has officially sprung, and while we love the warmer weather, the rising pollen counts can be a challenge for many of our students. If your child is experiencing itchy eyes, a runny nose, or frequent sneezing, they are likely feeling the effects of seasonal allergies. Please contact Nurse Kristen at bradyk@portlandschools.org if your student is experiencing seasonal allergies.
