1/06/26 Newsletter

Dear Lyman Moore Families,

As we prepare to return to school and begin 2026, we do so with heavy hearts. While the start of a new year often brings a sense of "moving forward," we want to acknowledge the profound loss our community is feeling following the passing of our 8th grader, Trey Boucher.

Our focus this month is on supporting one another and ensuring our students feel safe, heard, and cared for. We are here for your students and for you. Wishing your family a gentle start to the year. As we move into the year, please see the following information below.

Attendance:

Thank you for your dedication to ensuring your child's regular school attendance. Consistent routines, sleep schedules, and limits on technology use are essential for both learning and overall well-being. We appreciate your efforts to prepare your child for school each day, ready to learn.

Please continue to maintain your child's attendance throughout the winter season. Here is a link to the school calendar. If your child must miss school for a pre-planned absence of two or more days, please complete this form and give it to Ms. Berube or Ms. Taylor in the main office, or email the school at mooresecretary@portlandschools.org.
