Lyman Moore Middle School sixth-graders on Thursday, March 12, will be exhibiting the research projects they’ve done on natural disasters.
The Natural Disaster Exhibition will take place in the school’s cafeteria from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
As many as 80 projects on a variety of natural disasters will be on display and students will use different types of media to convey what they have learned, including tri-folds, models, dioramas, computer Keynotes and hands-on demonstrations.
In doing their research projects, the students sought to: explain short-term and long-term changes on the Earth's surface; understand how natural disasters affect humanity and the environment; identify the technology/tools and the area of science used to predict and measure natural disasters; and use multiple resources to gather relevant information.
Parents and fifth graders at nearby Lyseth and Presumpscot elementary schools are invited to interact with the presenters.
